Financial Fitness Class

Homeword's class teaches how to create a budget, set savings goals, use credit wisely, access banking services, become their own best advocate and avoid predatory lenders. The three-day class offers nine hours of instruction by a HUD-certified Housing Counselor and other professionals in the community who volunteer their time by providing expert instruction on a range of financial topics. The class material has been developed based on the national curriculum from FDIC and NeighborWorks America. Class participants will learn how to manage their personal finances and stabilize their lives by setting appropriate goals, creating a savings plan and learning how to make good decisions for long-term financial security. It is open to the public and is free. Free child care and refreshments are provided.
